Violinist Soyoung Park has been awarded the Berenberg Culture Prize, which comes with a €12,000 prize. The Berenberg Bank Foundation announced the award on Wednesday. The South Korean musician (born in 1998) completed her master's degree at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre in 2023 and recently finished her concert exam. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday evening in the Recital Hall of the Elbphilharmonie.

Scholarships were awarded to the American soprano Tylor Haines and the Hungarian harpist Álmos László Tallós. The Berenberg Art Prize was awarded to the artist Eda Aslan, born in Istanbul in 1993.

The Berenberg Bank Foundation of 1990 awards the Berenberg Culture Prize annually to emerging artists studying or working in Hamburg. It also supports the training of artists through scholarships and project funding. Since its founding, the foundation has supported young artists with more than one million euros, according to the press release.
