German Radio Philharmonic: New Orchestra Manager

The German Radio Philharmonic (DRP) Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern will have a new orchestra manager for the 2026/27 season. Adrian Kiedrowski will succeed Maria Grätzel, the Saarland Broadcasting Corporation (SR) announced on Wednesday. Grätzel, who has led the orchestra since May 2019, will retire this summer. Kiedrowski's contract has a term of five years.

The future orchestra manager has "already gained experience in a wide variety of leadership positions with renowned orchestras and will reliably continue the successful work of Maria Grätzel," said SR Director General Martin Grasmück. "His experience and expertise are very valuable for the German Radio Philharmonic in challenging times, enabling him to make wise and far-sighted decisions for the benefit of the DRP," added SWR Director General Kai Gniffke.

Kiedrowski, a trained cellist and cultural studies scholar, was most recently the Artistic Director responsible for events and festivals at the Kronberg Academy Foundation. Previously, he served as Orchestra Director of the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt and as Director of the Halle State Orchestra, including its integrated Handel Festival Orchestra.
