The cultural manager, musicologist, and publicist has headed the HMTM since the 2022/23 academic year. During this time, she has further developed the university "with a clear compass, great innovative strength, and a keen sense for people," said Bavaria's Minister of Science and Art, Markus Blume (CSU). "Under her leadership, the HMTM has further established itself as a top-tier university with national and international appeal."

Grün thanked the university council for its trust. "Over the next four years, we will jointly set an important course for the HMTM – not only with regard to the major construction project for the HMTM campus development," she said.

Born in 1976, Grün taught as a professor of music education at the Detmold University of Music before coming to Munich. From 2017 to 2021, she served as an expert on the Council for Cultural Education. From 2013 to 2019, she was the managing director of the association Netzwerk Junge Ohren (Network Young Ears). Previously, she was a music advisor in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture and managing director of Musikland Niedersachsen (Musicland Lower Saxony). Since October 2025, Grün has been the honorary president of the German Music Council.
