The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (SHMF) attracted approximately 188,000 visitors this year. Organizers announced on Friday that the festival achieved a 93 percent capacity. The 41st edition of the festival offered 205 concerts at 120 venues in Schleswig-Holstein, Denmark, Hamburg, and northern Lower Saxony. 149 concerts were sold out.

"For eight weeks, northern Germany became the happiest concert hall in Europe," summarized artistic director Christian Kuhnt. "Experiencing how people come together through music is a gift for me every year."

The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival concludes on Saturday and Sunday with concerts by the NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Stanislav Kochanovsky. The program includes Maurice Ravel's "Une barque sur l'océan" and Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor with Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki , as well as Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" in Ravel's orchestration. Both concerts are sold out.

The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival will take place from July 3rd to August 29th next year . The program is scheduled to be published on February 25th, 2027
