The hr Symphony Orchestra is looking for amateur musicians for a concert
The Hessian Radio Symphony Orchestra is planning its first-ever concert project with amateur musicians. They are looking for people who play an orchestral instrument "and who may have always dreamed of performing on stage with a professional orchestra," said Michael Traub, hr Music Director and Manager of the hr Symphony Orchestra, on Thursday. The goal of the "Symphony United" project is a joint performance of Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 8.

People aged 16 and over who can play their instrument at an advanced level and already have orchestral experience can apply, explained project manager Julian Conrad. Throughout the rehearsal period in May 2027, the amateurs will work together with experienced professionals from the various instrument sections and will perform on stage on May 26, 2027.
Details regarding requirements, work samples, and deadlines can be found at http://www.hr-sinfonieorchester.de/symphony-united-bewerbung-100.html. The application deadline is December 31, 2026.
