The State Theatre is planning eight premieres in its music theatre division. Paul-Johannes Kirschner will conduct the world premiere of his opera "Meanwhile." Bernd Mottl will direct John Adams' "Doctor Atomic," marking his first time directing the theatre. Jan Eßinger will make his house debut with a production of Mozart's "Don Giovanni." The opera "Antarctica" by Australian composer Mary Finsterer will have its German premiere.

Other premieres include the operas "Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner, "Ariadne auf Naxos" by Richard Strauss, and "In the Penal Colony" by Philip Glass, as well as the musical "Titanic." In addition, the State Theatre plans to revive Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Nabucco" and the operetta "The Pirates of Penzance" by Arthur Sullivan (music) and W.S. Gilbert (libretto) after a long hiatus.
