The ensemble SoloVoices was founded in 2008 by two female and two male singers who primarily perform contemporary music as soloists. All four musicians share an affinity for, and extensive experience with, contemporary music. SoloVoices performs cutting-edge repertoire and world premieres of works for solo voices, incorporating instruments, visual media, theatrical concepts, and electronics, and juxtaposing newer and older vocal music. SoloVoices develops its own projects, collaborates with composers, and commissions new works. In collaboration with Marc Garcia Vitoria and the ICST (Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology, Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), Prof. Germán Toro-Pérez), SoloVoices is dedicated to reviving works for voice and electronics composed between 1980 and 2000. Among the numerous world premieres performed by SoloVoices are works by Matthias Heep, Hans-Peter Frehner, Hans-Jürg Meier, Lukas Langlotz, Daniel Ott, Darija Andovska, Mike Svoboda, Hans-Martin Linde, Thomas Kessler, Roland Moser, Kevin Juillerat, Isabel Mundry, Marc Garcia Vitoria,
Rudolf Kelterborn, Nicolas Buzzi, Karin Wetzel, and Verena Weinmann. SoloVoices has been invited to perform by major festivals and organizers, including Culturescapes (Basel), Contrapunkt St.Gallen, musica aperta (Winterthur), KlangBasel, Festival Rümlingen,
IGNM Basel, Imago Dei (Krems, Austria), and the Lucerne Festival. SoloVoices: Svea Schildknecht, soprano | Francisca Näf, mezzo-soprano | Jean-Jacques Knutti, tenor | Jean-Christophe Groffe, bass. © SoloVoices 2018
