IGNM Basel
Since its founding in 1927, the association has strived to cover a broad spectrum of contemporary music through its concerts. Even a cursory glance at the programs of the ISCM Basel demonstrates that the concept of pluralism in new music is more than just a buzzword. It is no longer possible to summarize the goals of an institution like the ISCM in a concise aesthetic or programmatic statement of intent. Fortunately, in its eighth decade, the work of the ISCM Basel is driven by the idea of presenting the broadest possible panorama of contemporary musical creation, where "pluralism" is perceived not as a burden, but rather as a delight in multifaceted richness and complexity.
This delight can only be realized through close collaboration with a wide variety of institutions, ensembles, organizers, and new music practitioners in Basel and beyond.
Arbitrariness and indifference are not the guiding principles of the volunteer board's work, but rather a committed curiosity and passion.
