Mozart Festival Würzburg
"In Würzburg, we fortified our weary stomachs with coffee; a beautiful, magnificent city." This is how Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart described his impression of Würzburg when he enjoyed Franconian hospitality while passing through in September 1790. His music has thankfully returned, and he has chosen the Baroque city on the Main River as his adopted home. For almost a century, internationally acclaimed performers, orchestras, and conductors have come to Würzburg every year in early summer to enchant the city, all of Franconia, and its visitors, together with Wolfgang Amadeus – a festival unparalleled in Europe.
