Youth Symphony Orchestra Crescendo

Youth Symphony Orchestra Crescendo

The Crescendo Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1989 by twelve music enthusiasts and conductor Käthi Schmid Lauber. Today, it comprises approximately 60 young people between the ages of 14 and 25 who meet once a week to rehearse orchestral works in a modern symphonic setting with their conductor.
A unique feature of the orchestra is that it also performs as a choir in every concert. In 2012, the Crescendo Youth Symphony Orchestra was awarded the highest rating of "Excellent" at the Oberland Choir Festival. In
2003, the orchestra was a prize winner at the "Valiant Forum" as part of the "Murten Classic Festival," and in 2006 and 2009, it performed with the Canturicum Choir to sold-out audiences at the Tonhalle Zurich.
