Markus Oberholzer
Today, in addition to his artistic commitments, he is also a sought-after vocal coach in Solothurn. As a concert, oratorio, and opera singer, Markus Oberholzer has established a respected reputation as a bass-baritone with an extensive repertoire, particularly in Switzerland, Germany, and Hungary. His engagements with the Swiss Touring Opera, where he sang roles by Donizetti, Rossini, and Lortzing in over 150 performances, and his great success as Leporello at the Friedrichshafen Castle Opera, are just a few examples. He has given concerts in all the major concert halls of Switzerland (Tonhalle Zurich, Casino Basel, Casino Bern, Geneva Cathedral, and the KKL Luzern, where he has performed with orchestras such as the London Concert Symphony Orchestra and the Baden-Baden Philharmonic). Numerous CD, radio, and television recordings (including "Papageno Plays the Magic Flute" on SF DRS) complement the renowned artist's impressive concert and theatrical career.
