Neumünster Orchestra Zurich
Since January 1, 2016, Christoph Rehli has been the conductor of the Neumünster Orchestra (NO). The orchestra can already look back on a rich musical history and tradition – and yet it continues to evolve. It has grown and now benefits from Christoph Rehli's extensive experience as a conductor and organist.
The concertmaster is Sergio Marrini, born in Italy in 1984. After graduating from high school, he studied violin and viola in Italy, completing both degrees with distinction. In Switzerland, he studied at the Basel Academy of Music with Adelina Oprean, earning both his concert diploma and soloist diploma in violin with distinction. Since music education is also very important to him, he completed a master's degree in music education. He enjoys teaching and performs as a soloist and orchestral musician in various venues.
The Neumünster Orchestra was founded in 1929 by Alfred Stern, a well-known Zurich musician and folk music researcher. At that time, it was called the "Neumünster Parish Orchestra" and played at church services and festive occasions. Alfred Stern led the orchestra for 50 years, rehearsing and performing countless pieces, as evidenced by the orchestra's extensive music library.
