About the interview

Kandinsky Ensemble

The Kandinsky Ensemble performs with its richly textured core instrumentation of violin, clarinet, cello, and piano. The four musicians—Andreas Janke, Fabio di Càsola, Thomas Grossenbacher, and Benjamin Engeli—are well-known on major concert stages and have been chamber music partners for many years. What unites these four artists, all based in Switzerland, is their dedication to the great masterpieces of classical music, bringing their exceptional musical talent and years of experience to the performance. Each instrument contributes its own unique tonal palette to the ensemble, allowing the compositions to shine in all their brilliance. The ensemble interprets works from the era of its namesake: from Johannes Brahms and Carl Frühling to Alexander Zemlinsky. They also frequently include contemporary pieces, adding their own distinctive nuances to the program. The Kandinsky Ensemble promises a truly joyful musical experience and instrumental mastery of the highest caliber.
