program
Merry Christmas with selected Christmas carols:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart,
Regina Coeli in C major, KV 276 (321b);
Joseph Haydn,
Theresienmesse in B-flat major, Hob. XXII:12.
The Zurich Boys' Choir presents its Christmas concerts this year with works by Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The program begins with familiar and beloved Christmas carols. Mozart's Regina Coeli, KV 276, sets a brilliant first highlight. The musical climax of the evening is Haydn's magnificent Theresienmesse – imbued with heartfelt expressiveness and a rich, full sound.
Together with the Camerata Zürich, boy soloists from the choir's own ranks, and Luis Magallanes (tenor) and Simon Schnorr (baritone), a festive concert evening of great sacred music and Christmas reflection awaits.
