last banana tree dies, they embark on an adventurous journey
halfway around the world. Their destination: Uncle Jaap's banana stall at Amsterdam
's Albert Cuyp Market. But what happens when the four hungry
penguins suddenly appear before him?
With wit, imagination, and plenty of music, the Ardemus Quartet tells the story
of this unusual expedition. In collaboration with the National
Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and director Margrith Vrenegoor,
they have created a stage production that delights children and adults alike
. Music by Michael Nyman, Claude Debussy, Toek Numan, and others becomes
a vibrant soundtrack for a story full of humor, suspense, and
heart.
A family concert for everyone from 6 to 99 years old – quirky birds, grand adventures
, and a quartet that plays and acts with virtuosity and infectious enthusiasm
