program
Is music experienced differently in the dark? When day is over and night has fallen? We're venturing into this experiment and will let the lights dim a little more in the concert hall after each piece – the final piece will then be performed in complete darkness.
Rest assured: as a listener, you can't be moved much more intensely by Romantic music from England.
This unique listening experience will be complemented by the peaceful yet eerie story "The Landlady" by British author Roald Dahl, read by Maria Pappa.
Program:
Gerald Finzi - Prelude op. 25;
Edvard Elgar - Serenade for Strings op. 20;
Henry Purcell - Chaconne in D minor;
John Dowland - Flow my tears / Lacrimae Amantis;
Gustav Holst - Brook Green Suite;
James Moore - An Irish Blessing
