StradivariFEST Gersau (July 22–26, 2026): Mozart by the lake – moving sounds, magical locations, and unforgettable moments filled with intimacy, warmth, and musical passion.
The renowned Swiss Stradivari Quartet, with its extensive national and international concert schedule, performs in leading concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Wigmore Hall London, the Konzerthaus Vienna, and the Philharmonie Berlin, and delights audiences with its StradivariFESTs in Cremona, Gersau, Hamburg, Scuol, Vienna, and Berlin. For the twelfth time, the Stradivari Quartet and fellow musicians invite you to the StradivariFEST Gersau, which will once again take place on the shores of Lake Lucerne from July 22 to 26, 2026.
Under the motto "Mozart on the Shores of Lake Lucerne," this year's festival is dedicated entirely to the creative spirit of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The musicians invite you to extraordinary concert experiences in special locations, bringing Mozart's timeless sound world to life in all its facets – from the famous "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" to the profound late quintets. The festival offers masterfully interpreted chamber music and caters to a wide range of listeners, from curious newcomers to seasoned connoisseurs. A feast for all the senses, creating lasting memories for everyone – these are the hallmarks of all StradivariFESTs.
First-class chamber music in what was once the world's smallest republic.
From 1984 to 2014, the annual concert of the Habisreutinger Stradivari Foundation was held on the last weekend of July in the parish church of Gersau. The Gersau StradivariFEST grew out of this tradition. This year, cellist Maja Weber, together with Gersau Tourism, is organizing the StradivariFEST for the twelfth consecutive year.
As with all StradivariFESTs, this year's concerts will be arranged around the Stradivari Quartet in various ensembles. The focus is on performing in unique locations. On Lake Lucerne, works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will resonate in special natural settings: Impressive chamber music pieces will be performed on the Gersau lakeside stage, directly on the lakeshore. The other venues are also remarkable: The chamber music will be showcased to great effect in the superb acoustics of St. Marzellus Parish Church, in the elegant Mythensaal of the Seehotel Waldstätterhof, and in the impressive chamber music hall of Kultur Kulinarik Vitznau. We are particularly looking forward to presenting our vision of chamber music in an intimate setting for the eighth time at the idyllic Kindli Chapel in Gersau, by candlelight.
A special highlight again this year is the brunch on the barge "Republik," which promises to be a culinary and musical delight for concertgoers.

The Stradivari Quartet brings not only musical talent but also comprehensive organizational experience, which the audience can feel at every concert. Maja Weber and her team have proven at the last StradivariFESTs that outstanding musical events are possible even under extremely difficult conditions.
