“Sound Wave” Lake Zurich: Voilà la France

Following its opening performance at the Tonhalle Zurich, the second stop of the "Klangwellen" season takes us to Küsnacht! On October 25, 2026, the renowned Stradivari Quartet will perform in the ballroom of the Boutique Hotel Sonne, located directly on Lake Zurich, dedicating themselves entirely to the heart of French chamber music: the string quartet. The grand finale will be Claude Debussy's String Quartet in G minor. Prior to this, the program will feature Darius Milhaud's vibrant String Quartet No. 7 in B-flat major and Henri Dutilleux's "Ainsi la nuit"—a shimmering nocturnal soundscape. In the prelude, cultural journalist Christian Berzins (CH Media) will introduce the program to the audience.

The 10th edition of "Klangwelle Zürichsee" (Sound
Wave Lake Zurich) With the 2026/27 season, the StradivariFEST "Klangwelle Zürichsee" celebrates a special anniversary: it marks the 10th edition of a concert season that captivates audiences with its unique concept of exploring the musical world of a composer – or now, a country – from a variety of perspectives throughout an entire season.
The audience and the musicians of the StradivariQuartett immerse themselves in a musical language for the entire season – this time characterized by French elegance, refinement, and richness of color. In varying chamber music formations, from recital duos to chamber orchestras, works by composers including Boulanger, Chausson, Debussy, Dutilleux, and Farrenc will be performed.
As in previous years, the anniversary season will feature seven concerts with seven preludes and seven receptions at special locations around Lake Zurich. This ensures the continued intimacy, dialogue, and encounter format – a hallmark of the festival for many years.

The complete France package:
The "Sound Wave" around France encompasses not only the concerts but also a commission for a new composition by Laurent Mettraux. Furthermore, a Stradivari tour to Paris, following in the footsteps of French composers, will take place from April 14th to 18th, 2027.

"Préludes" – unique concert introductions:
Before the concerts, media professionals will introduce the program with seven "Préludes." Musically framed by the Stradivari musicians, this is an ideal prelude to the concert for young and old alike, and is very popular with the audience. The audience will experience a diverse range of impressions of the composers.
