Many decades later, the author Kaspar Wolfensberger discovered objects in a long-lost chest of drawers that seemed to tell the story of this extraordinary summer spent by Brahms and his friends. This discovery led to his book, *The Brahms Chest of Drawers*.
This evening, Wolfensberger will read selected passages from the book. Claire Pasquier and Jansen Ryser will musically interpret these literary traces, performing works by Johannes Brahms on the piano.
Word and music will engage in a dialogue, painting a portrait of the great composer that is both entertaining and personal. An evening of historical exploration, poetic imagination, and the unmistakable music of Johannes Brahms.
