program
Our series of coffeehouse concerts puts local musicians in the spotlight.
Who doesn't know "Somewhere in the World" or "Music! Music! Music" by the Comedian Harmonists, or "Sing Sing Sing" by Louis Prima? The Olten Project Choir presents a colorful bouquet of lively and melancholic evergreens and sophisticated salon music from the 1920s to the 1940s, drawn from the world of vaudeville,
chanson, and swing.
Such programs perfectly suit the Olten Project Choir's profile: The ensemble performs music of all styles and eras, with a focus on modern classical music and, above all, popular music from 1900 onward. The high standard of the works, mostly accompanied by instrumental ensembles, as well as the singers' willingness to experiment, extends even to the modern avant-garde. The choir also regularly delights audiences through collaborations with other choirs and unusual ensembles, such as wind bands.
