This duo takes the audience on a journey through music for cello and piano from the Romantic era to the modern age. Mendelssohn's Variations Concertantes showcase the playful interplay of the instruments, Webern's Two Pieces mark the transition to atonality. Beethoven's Sonata, Op. 69, is considered a pinnacle of the repertoire, Reger's Suite, Op. 103a, explores polyphony and harmony, Schumann's Fantasy Pieces alternate between reverie and passion. Paganini's Variations on One String combine virtuosity with the bel canto tradition.
