As
an early Christmas present, we are delighted to welcome once again the Geneva-born star flautist Emmanuel Pahud to Bern, whose skill and expressiveness have already captivated us in various ensembles at the Master Concerts. Together with Benjamin Alard on the harpsichord, he presents a program this year that pays homage to Johann Sebastian Bach.
Three sonatas for flute and harpsichord – one of which, however, would probably be more accurately attributed to Bach's son Carl Philipp Emanuel and at most slightly revised by his father – will be performed, as well as the virtuosic solo partita in A minor and an aria from the Christmas Oratorio arranged for flute and harpsichord.

Aria "Frohe Hirten, eilt, ach eilet" (arr. for flute and harpsichord after an excerpt from the 2nd cantata of the Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248)
Sonata in A major, BWV 1032 for flute and harpsichord
Tickets include a book signing and an after-concert drink with the artists.
Concerts begin promptly. Late entry is only possible under certain conditions.
