program
The focus is on female composers such as Germaine Tailleferre, Jeanne-Louise Farrenc, Nadia and Lili Boulanger, as well as their renowned contemporaries Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré, César Franck, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc, Jean Françaix, and Henri Dutilleux. Through panel discussions, interviews, and narrated musical interludes, their music is brought to life within the context of cultural space, history, and contemporary interpretation – vividly, accessibly, and open to questions from the audience.
The Lighthouse series is aimed at a broad audience of music lovers, curious newcomers, and professional musicians who wish to explore French chamber music in greater depth. The close connection between words and sound—analytical insights combined with live performances by Stradivari musicians—offers direct access to this elegant and spirited world of sound.
As the opening event of the anniversary season "Voilà, la France!" and the 10th anniversary of Klangwelle Zürichsee, the Lighthouse series also serves as a bridge to the seven concert programs, the Préludes, and the accompanying podcast series. Those attending the Lighthouse series will receive a well-informed and vivid preview of the season—ideal for experiencing the subsequent concerts more consciously and intensely.
Information on tickets and the entire "Voilà, la France!" season, featuring seven concerts around Lake Zurich, can be found at [website address missing].
