program
As part of the "Newcomers" series
: Robert Schumann: Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 63;
Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber: Les roses héroïques for Piano Trio (2021);
Maurice Ravel: Piano Trio in A minor (1914).
Duration approx. 75 minutes, no intermission.
No concert bus.
Tickets: CHF 0-35.
As part of its residency at the Ernen Music Village, the Helix Trio presents a concert featuring Robert Schumann's first Piano Trio in D minor and Maurice Ravel's only Piano Trio in A minor – both masterpieces of their respective eras.
Interspersed between these works is Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber's Les roses héroïques. This piece contains no heroic sounds. Instead, it offers dreamy sounds, refined textures, and gently (like moonlight) luminous harmonies. The composer borrows the title from a work by Paul Klee – “because of its gentle sound, the repetition of syllables, the association with a flower, but above all because of the paradox it contains.”
According to the composer, the piece unfolds from “exquisite sounds (stony sounds of the piano, caressing strings)” and aims “to make the glow of gentleness audible.”
