Romanticism – how much this era still fascinates us, even after 200 years! A creative storm of unprecedented energy was brewing, the harbingers of which we recognize from the perspective of later generations in the Sturm und Drang movement, the young Schiller and the young Goethe, as well as in Herder and the French Revolution. And then Novalis and the philosophers around the turn of the century formulated how the world should be romantically reimagined, reimagined as a work of art. In this year's program, the Concento Stravagante revels in three unforgettable works of early Romanticism to mark its 40th anniversary.
The chamber orchestra invites you to its grand anniversary concert during Advent. We are delighted to perform Felix Mendelssohn's Concert Piece, Op. 114, with the fantastic soloists Fabio di Càsola (clarinet) and Rui Lopes (bassoon). And with great enthusiasm, we will dedicate ourselves to the two brilliant works "Overture to William Tell" by Gioachino Rossini and "Symphony No. 7" by Ludwig van Beethoven, in an expanded ensemble of 12 wind instruments and timpani.
Admission is free; a collection will be taken.
