The Klybeck district in Basel – in this creatively stimulating, modern mix of industry, traffic, working-class suburbia, and music lies a lovely green oasis, home to the charming village church of Kleinhüningen, with its distinctive onion dome, the only Baroque church in Basel!
Four times a year, in autumn, winter, spring, and summer, various ensembles from La Cetra perform chamber music in the small church, a genre rarely cultivated in such an intimate setting these days, followed by a convivial reception.
For some Mozart aficionados, his late piano trios are among the most beautiful works Mozart ever composed. This genre experienced a boom around 1786, and Mozart himself often played them with his Viennese friends. Performed on period instruments, the tonal balance and, consequently, the character of these works are revealed anew.
