program
From Piazzolla's tango and Boccherini's fandango to Fagerlund's modern sound explorations, a program full of rhythmic energy and dance-like impulses unfolds. It's a musical opportunity to discover different eras and cultures, from Baroque Spain and Tango Nuevo to contemporary Nordic music.
Characteristic of the concert series presented by the Finnish Music Society is its thematic focus on works by Finnish composers, which are placed in carefully curated programs that connect with colleagues from around the world across eras and styles. In this concert, Finnish modernism is represented by the music of Sebastian Fagerlund. "Come Eco" musically explores the phenomenon of echo: how does a sound change in space, and how does the piece simultaneously reflect echoes from Fagerlund's earlier works? The string players of the Taru Ensemble and guest guitarist Christian Lozano Sedano will explore these questions. Fagerlund's work for guitar and string quartet will be framed by Astor Piazzolla's moving Histoire du Tango and Luigi Boccherini's captivating "Fandango" Guitar Quintet.
Before the concert, a convivial "Meet & Greet the Artists" invites you to engage in personal conversation with the musicians in the early autumn atmosphere of the picturesque garden. Welcome!
