"Soli Deo Gloria – To God alone be the glory" was Johann Sebastian Bach's heartfelt motto – and a variation of it also concludes the festive opening concert of this year's Bach Weeks: Following concertante works for violin, oboe, and trumpet, the magnificent cantata "Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen" (Praise God in all lands) is on the program. Soprano voice and trumpet compete in their praise of God, which is crowned by a virtuosic Hallelujah. With soprano Hana Blažíková, soloists Benoît Laurent and Dominic Wunderli, and Les Passions de l'Âme led by Meret Lüthi, we can look forward to a musical firework display.
