program

The argovia philharmonic is once again touring the region, presenting a diverse Baroque program under the direction of Italian conductor Ruben Jais. The concert opens with Georg Philipp Telemann's "Hamburger Ebb und Fluth" Suite TWV 55:C3, a water music piece created for the 100th anniversary of the Hamburg Admiralty, which vividly depicts a story of ebb and flow and mythological sea creatures. This is followed by a vibrant display of Baroque splendor in Georg Friedrich Handel's Concerto grosso HWV 313 op. 3 no. 2. The program concludes with Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins in B minor, op. 3 no. 10, a work from his famous collection "L'estro armonico," which, with its originality and wealth of ideas, ranks among the most influential works of the 18th century. Finally, Georg Friedrich Handel's "Music for the Royal Fireworks" HWV 351 will be performed. Originally composed for a royal fireworks display, it presents Baroque art in its most magnificent form.
