What do Grażyna Bacewicz, Leonard Bernstein, Philip Glass, Aaron Copland, and Krzysztof Penderecki have in common? They were all taught by Nadia Boulanger. With her exceptional knowledge and powerful, timelessly modern thinking, the composer, conductor, and musician is considered one of the greatest music educators and most influential composition teachers of the 20th century. Five of Nadia Boulanger's former students will be featured in this concert with the acclaimed Belgian-Flemish clarinetist Annelien Van Wauwe and the Polish conductor Marzena Diakun. The program includes Aaron Copland's popular Clarinet Concerto and Leonard Bernstein's early Clarinet Sonata, in an arrangement for clarinet and strings.
