"Nibble, nibble, little mouse, who's nibbling at my little house?" At Christmastime, the suite from Engelbert Humperdinck's opera "Hansel and Gretel" whisks children and adults away to a romantic world of sound. The famous story of Hansel and Gretel unfolds in richly colored orchestral music: mysteriously whispering forest sounds, the wild witch's ride, playful gingerbread waltzes, and the enchanted gingerbread children bring the Grimm Brothers' fairytale forest to life. The "Evening Prayer" resounds again and again – a moment full of warmth, comfort, and security. Without stage or costumes, the argovia philharmonic and Stefano Wenk's narration create a captivating audio fairytale – a festive concert experience for the whole family.
