Two composers in today's concert program are dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. Mario Enrico Bossi's 3 Momenti Francescani are conceived less as a virtuoso showpiece than as spiritual soundscapes that invite the listener to contemplation and inner reflection. The first piece, by Franz Liszt, explores the quiet devotion between humanity and creation. Shimmering figurations, bright registers, and ethereal harmonies bring the chirping of birds and the peaceful atmosphere vividly to life. The second piece is somewhat more dramatic. Similarly, the mood of William Faulke's Lègende and Finale shifts decisively in the second movement. We are very much looking forward to the evocative concert by Vincenzo Allevato from Bolzano.
