Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra
The Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra (SJSO) is a truly unique orchestra: young, talented musicians from all over Switzerland come together to perform demanding works from all periods of classical music under the direction of the internationally renowned conductor Kai Bumann.
Through their performances at various venues across Switzerland, the young musicians gain invaluable experience in orchestral playing – experience that many of them draw upon after their time with the SJSO, when they join prestigious professional orchestras. Furthermore, the annual spring and autumn tours foster connections between the diverse cultural regions of Switzerland through shared music-making and the multilingualism of the members.
To date, the SJSO has prepared over 200 symphonic works, which have been performed in more than 500 concerts in Switzerland and abroad.
