Born into a family of musicians in Lucerne, she was accepted into Homero Francesch's masterclass at the Zurich University of the Arts at the age of thirteen and made her debut at the Tonhalle Zurich at fourteen.
Her second prize at the Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians in Copenhagen in 1986 makes her the most successful Swiss artist in this competition to date. Further prizes and awards as a soloist and chamber musician followed.
This success led to concerts in leading European venues, and repeated invitations to record for numerous European radio stations rounded out her concert career.
Despite this brilliant start, personal reasons prompted a period of deliberate withdrawal, allowing Marian Rosenfeld to develop her artistic skills outside the traditional concert circuit.
