An inspiring concert that transcends borders, cultures, and traditions, taking the audience on a captivating musical journey through Ireland, the Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe. From the yearning melodies of Ireland to the joie de vivre of the Mediterranean, and from the fiery energy of Eastern European folk music to spirited Gypsy music, Folk Passion celebrates the unique power of music to connect people across generations and cultures.

Anton Violinist is an internationally renowned violinist whose exceptional artistry blends classical virtuosity with a deep passion for traditional music, fiery Gypsy music, and expressive musical storytelling. Known for his brilliant performances, captivating stage presence, and distinctive arrangements, he has performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including the 3Arena in Dublin, the BBC Proms, the London Palladium, and the Tipos Arena in Bratislava.

Highlights of the program include the rousing Hungarian Dance No. 5, the timeless Irish ballad Danny Boy, the iconic Italian song Bella Ciao, and the passionate classic Dark Eyes.

Folk Passion invites you to an unforgettable concert evening where love, passion, and musical excellence merge into a moving experience. An evening full of virtuosity, emotion, and musical intensity that will inspire, touch, and linger in the memory.

The ensemble:

Anton Jablokov - Violin.
A Slovak violinist from a family of musicians in Bratislava, he received classical training and developed an early stylistic openness. At the age of nine, he discovered jazz and gypsy violin (including Stéphane Grappelli and Roby Lakatos), which shaped his approach to classical, jazz, folk, and improvisation. He
studied in Bratislava, Lucerne, and Essen, and earned a master's degree in Lugano under Sergej Krylov. Winner of international competitions and active internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, including appearances at the BBC Proms, the National Concert Hall Dublin, and the 3Arena Dublin.

Lucie Kočí - Violin.
Czech violinist trained in Prague and Lucerne.
Solo performances include appearances at the Rudolfinum in Prague, the KKL Lucerne, and with the Camerata Zürich. Active as a freelance musician in various chamber music and orchestral projects, as well as a violin teacher in Switzerland.

Sherniyaz Mussakhan - Violin.
Kazakh violinist and prizewinner of international competitions (including Wieniawski, Lipinski, and David Oistrakh).
Studied in Moscow, Lausanne, and Basel. Soloist with, among others, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Basel Symphony Orchestra. Performances include appearances at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Mozarteum Salzburg, and the Mariinsky Theatre. Artistic Director of the Young Eurasian Soloists Chamber Orchestra.

Prof. Orfeo Mandozzi - Cello.
Renowned Swiss cellist and international soloist.
Professor at the Zurich University of the Arts. Performances in Europe, America, and Asia, as well as collaborations with leading orchestras and musicians.

Adam Kuruc - Piano.
Slovak pianist and composer with a diverse repertoire spanning classical, jazz, and film music.
Compositions include those for the Grammy Award-winning duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, as well as international orchestral and crossover projects.

Erick Martinez - Double Bass
. He began his musical training at the age of ten with "El Sistema" in Venezuela before studying double bass at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. He has played in renowned orchestras and collaborated with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel and Zubin Mehta. Since 2021, he has been Assistant Principal Double Bass with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (OSI) in Lugano.
