Classic Festival Choir
the Classic Festival Choir comprises over two hundred singers. The members rehearse weekly in the Singkreis Wasseramt, the Konzertchor Oberaargau , and the Konzertchor Leberberg for their joint performances.
These choirs are directed by opera singer Markus Oberholzer, who places great emphasis on professional vocal training.
The choir has performed in this formation on several occasions in major works, such as Orff's Carmina Burana and Tippett's "A Child of Our Time." They have been accompanied by, among others, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Kammerphilharmonie Europa, the Württembergische Philharmonie, and the Danube Symphony Orchestra, Budapest. Since 2008, the Classic Festival Choir has been regularly engaged for concerts at the KKL Luzern and in 2011 toured as part of the PostFinance Classics series, performing in all the major concert halls of Switzerland (Tonhalle Zurich, KKL Luzern, Casino Basel and Bern, and Victoria Hall in Geneva).
Concert tours took the choir to southern Germany and Hungary.
CD recordings: "A Christmas Celebration" and "Carmina Burana Live!"
