The Hungarian pianist and 2021 Géza Anda Prize winner will perform music by Haydn, Schumann, and his compatriot Béla Bartók for his Musikdorf debut. Berecz has extensive experience with Bartók, having performed the composer's complete piano works in eight recitals in Budapest between 2020 and 2022.
Also being heard for the first time in Switzerland is the Sonata in F minor by Hélène de Montgeroult (1764–1836), the legendary pianist who, as a piano professor, significantly influenced the early years of the Paris Conservatoire and was particularly renowned during her lifetime for her piano improvisations. Berecz has recorded it on CD for the first time.
