The five musicians first performed together at the Pacific Festival in Sapporo, Japan, founded by Leonard Bernstein. Overcoming boundaries through music and finding unity in diversity – that is the message of the young, internationally acclaimed Pacific Quintet, which has already won numerous prizes, including second prize and the audience prize at the ARD Music Competition. In their moderated concert at the light-filled Atelier Bolt, the ensemble presents an attractive program of classical music (Mozart and Reicha) and French Impressionism, such as Claude Debussy's "Petit Suite" arranged for wind quintet and Maurice Ravel's enchanting fairy tale cycle "Ma Mère L'Oye" (Mother Goose), which features Sleeping Beauty, Tom Thumb, and an enchanted garden. And when Leonard Bernstein's "Candide" Overture is performed at the end, the Pacific Quintet returns to its roots.
