The last of the six gala concerts at the 2026 Chamber Music Festival leads into the world of night and dreams, most obviously in Antonín Dvořák's beautiful Nocturne and Franz Schubert's song.

Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber's Piano Trio Les roses héroïques fits perfectly into the image of a serenely drifting dream, with its refined textures and gently (like moonlight) luminous harmonies.

Mel Bonis described her Piano Quartet, premiered in 1927, as her musical testament. It is music full of vitality and sensuality, beginning with the deeply felt chorale of the elegantly lyrical first movement. The third movement is particularly beautiful, with its immense, dreamlike melodic lines that end in ethereal tranquility.

Camille Saint-Saëns' Piano Quartet, composed a few years after the Franco-Prussian War, seems to be a dreamlike vision of reconciliation, marked by Saint-Saëns' affinity for the German composers Bach and Schumann.
