The closing concert of the 2026 International Cathedral Organ Concerts will be a "homecoming" for former cathedral organist Willibald Guggenmos. It's wonderful to hear him once again at the two organs of his former workplace. His program will feature several lesser-known gems, such as Jean Giroud's "Toccata pour l'élévation," by a little-known composer with a moderately modern musical language, and "Psalm 150" by the Dutch composer Toon Hangen. Leo Swobery's "Air with Variations" is also rarely heard—a tranquil and contemplative piece. We can expect a concert full of discoveries.
